The Positive Mindset Challenge is an evidence-based, digital mental wellbeing and mindset programme designed specifically for New Zealand youth.
Designed for busy classrooms, it’s fully flexible, push-button ready, and takes just 10-15 minutes of class time per lesson. With a wide range of topics and an easy-to-use whānau app, your students will build the mindset to thrive, enabling calmer classrooms, happier tamariki and greater success in the classroom and beyond.
Become a Positive Mindset School
Becoming a Positive Mindset School sets your school apart as a leader in student wellbeing and in creating a strong, positive culture. It shows parents, staff and the wider community that your school actively invests in resilience, respect and happiness.
With a proven framework that’s simple to implement, you’ll build calmer classrooms, more engaged learners and a strong, supportive environment where every student can thrive.

I used the Positive Mindset challenge at the start of the year with my class. This fitted in perfectly when students were establishing friendships and finding their place within the classroom. We revisited it again during the end of the year, when the students were learning about Positive Puberty. It focused on ensuring the students not only thought about others but also took the time to think about themselves and how they are valued and what is important to them. My students drew images as they listened to show what they were learning about, so they were able to give a visual representation of what they took away from each session. As an adult I also got a lot out of each session. I liked that they were short but meaningful, I was able to relate to the topics and if I was having a bad day, they gave me a good pick me up and encouraged me to think positively and enjoy my day!
The Positive Mindset Challenge is a God send! My students are able to get daily lessons, tools and supportive life enhancing tips from this programme and have all commented that they looked forward to watching the next video clip and that they felt the sessions have helped reduce their anxieties. Resources that enhance students and teacher’s wellbeing such as the Positive Mindset Challenge are so very important, and I encourage other schools to try it and reap the amazing benefits of this programme.
I have been using the Positive Mindset Challenge in my classroom of year 6 students and it has been really well received by the students. I found the values and messages shared in each video to be pinpointed and directly relate to the needs of my students. Having a supporting platform like the Positive Mindset Challenge is a great way to back up what I am saying.
This is the first time I have used the Positive Mindset Challenge in my classroom and I have found it beneficial. For some of the kids who need that extra reminder about their behaviour or how to make good choices and reflect on their actions, being able to watch short videos with a pinpointed lesson about kindness or what makes a good friend, has been a good and a non-direct way to address some behavioural issues that arise.
The Positive Mindset Challenge has been a valuable asset for our intermediate students at Mount Maunganui Intermediate over the past three years! This structured, healthy wellbeing program gives students hands-on tools to cope with the various health and wellbeing challenges that are common with emerging adolescents . The Positive Mindset Challenge is a positive and affirming resource that I highly recommend.
