Sponsor the Positive Mindset Challenge
Help us create lasting change in the mental wellbeing of New Zealand youth.
Why we need your support
Youth mental wellbeing in Aotearoa needs all the support it can get. More tamariki are arriving at school feeling anxious, unsettled, or emotionally overwhelmed than ever before – making it hard to focus and learn. Teachers are stretched managing busy classrooms without the right tools and parents are under pressure to support their children’s wellbeing, often without the knowledge or tools to do so.
The Positive Mindset Challenge changes this. It gives children, whānau, schools and community organisations simple, practical tools for resilience, self-regulation and positivity – building lifelong skills that make a difference.
Your impact as a sponsor
Every contribution directly supports the mental wellbeing of tamariki through the Positive Mindset Challenge, whether in schools, through community organisations or via social service programmes, reaching children most in need:
• One child supported with lifelong skills, per $10 sponsored
• $500 → 50 tamariki supported
• $2,000 → 200 tamariki supported
• $5,000 → 500 tamariki supported
If you require a charitable receipt, please contact us.
Together we can create happier classrooms, resilient tamariki and stronger, more supported whānau and communities.
Over half of all New Zealanders aged 15-24 experience anxiety or depression – and numbers of young people with moderate to high distress have nearly doubled since 2016/17, a recent (2022/23) Ministry of Health survey shows. Mental Health Foundation (MHF) chief executive Shaun Robinson says “Our country is experiencing a youth mental health crisis… Supporting young people with mental health challenges now can have a substantial positive impact on their lives.”
